CHDI is established on a vision of reducing poverty, creating new employment and providing programs and activities to improve the economic status of the suburban masses; responsible residents finding it hard to make ends meet.
CHDI is focused on empowering these individuals, semi-skilled, able and eager to work in order to attain financial independence.
Our strategy is straight-forward and quite effective. From experience, we have observed that empowering one individual, will have a spill-over effect on about ten people. Thus, a scheme that ultimately empowers 1,000 individuals will have a positive effect on an estimated 10,000 people.
Our target areas are the suburbs, where this kind of assistance is greatly needed. Initially, we intend to work with people that we have had dealings with, and then gradually extend our tentacles till we achieve our goal of touching 100,000 lives.
